The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is a protected area high in the White Mountains in Inyo County, California.The Great Basin bristlecone trees grow between 9,800 and 11,000 feet above sea level. It is home to the oldest trees in the world. In 2019, I traveled to the Patriarch Grove for the sole purpose of capturing the Milky Way high above the ancient trees.
